The Bishop?s Lodge, secluded in its own private valley in the colorful foothills of the Sangre De Cristo Mountains, is an exquisite hideaway ranked by Travel and Leisure as one of America?s recreational opportunities and contemporary Southwestern accommodations in a traditional ranch setting. Established in 1851 as a retreat for Jean Baptiste Lamy, the First Bishop of Santa Fe, the Bishop?s lodge has become New Mexico?s vacation playground. Landscaped with lush gardens, lawns and fruit trees, hiking, tennis courts, swimming pool and newly opened full service spa, a fitness center and nearby golfing and skiing. Designed in Spanish Colonial and Native American styles, accommodations include complete modern conveniences and stunning mountain and ranch views. As a Southwestern adventure gateway, the resort is near Santa Fe?s galleries, shops and museums, Taos, Bandelier National Monument and other historical sites.A resort fee of $9 per person will be added to all rooms.     Anybody at the car rental desk will be able to direct you to Airport Road.Turn right onto Airport Road, drive approximately 3.2 miles to the trafficlight at Cerrillos Road.Turn left onto Cerrillos Road, drive approximately 4.7 miles to the trafficlight at St. Francis Drive.Turn left on to St. Francis Drive and proceed 0.9 miles, through 3 trafficlights to the 4th light at Paseo de Peralta. (Paseo de Peralta is a looproad which intersects twice with St. Francis Drive; you will need the secondPaseo de Peralta, with the Bank of America on the north-east corner.)Turn right on Paseo de Peralta, drive one mile through 4 traffic lights tothe 5th light at Bishop's Lodge Road.Turn left on to Bishop's Lodge Road.Drive 3.5 miles. The Bishop's Lodge is at the bottom of the hill, on theright.     Cancellations must be made 72 hours prior to arrival to avoid a 1 night room + tax charge + resort fee. Resort fee consists of 12.50 USD per person per day. No shows are charged 1 night stay.

  • Horseback Riding Saddle up year round! The Lodge offers memorable trail rides in the dramatic foothills and canyons on the ranch, and in the adjacent Santa Fe National Forest. During summer season, the destination might be the "Mesa Vista" campsite, a hearty trailside breakfast and a cup of "Cowboy Coffee".Tennis Two courts, teaching pro, and tennis shop available mid-April through mid-October. At 7,000 feet, you'll need special "high altitude" tennis balls. Hiking Start off on our self-guided Nature Walk before venturing to the 7700' viewpoint above the Lodge. There is a system of marked trails with detailed hiking map; unmarked trails await the more adventurous in the adjacent Santa Fe National Forest. The Lodge has its own bird list and is a member of the Audubon Co-operation Sanctuary System. Pool Facilities Relax at the prettiest pool in northern New Mexico, surrounded by lawns and towering cottonwoods, blue skies, and abundant sunshine. Summertime pool attendant and bar service. Hot tub, exercise room with treadmill, bicycles, and hydraulic machines. Early morning and late afternoon lap times in the 30' X 60' heated pool. Pool open April through October.   • Children's Program- Camp Apaloosa

  • Camp Apaloosa is the oldest and most renowed childrens program in Northern New Mexico. This is a Seasonal program offered to children between the ages of 4-12. For 2003 Prices for a day session are $52.00 per child. The day program begins at 8am and concludes at 4pm. Breakfast and lunch are included in this fee. Day activities include: hiking, swimming, tennis, arts and crafts, grass games, pizza parties, pony rides and much more. An evening program is also available at the cost of $39.00 per child. Evening program does include dinner. Packed with activities, the camp will ensure that your child's experience at the Lodge will be fun and memorable!

  • ShaNah (which means vitality, energy) is more than a spa to pamper, it is a sanctuary where you can take time out to be nurtured by Mother Nature, guided by ancient wisdom, and touched by angels. Come for a week, a day, or an hour-it may change your life. All sessions will begin with an optional drumming and blessing to set the intention and open the heart. We give full 60- and 90-minute sessions that are focused on the synergistic dance of therapist and guest. Our motto is to individualize the treatment. Our therapists work in an environment that enhances their healing energy, their ShaNah, and in turn nourishes and deepens the experience for our guests.
